How to Combat Chronic Stress with Juicing

Let’s face it, we’re all facing more chronic stress and anxiety these days than we did in years passed. That’s because competitive workplaces, long office hours, and countless personal commitments are all contributing to a higher amount of emotional strain. The good news is that you can treat these problems just like you would any other health condition – with the right healthy habits.

While things like meditation, therapy, and exercise can all contribute to giving you a more positive mindset, juicing could also have a part to play when it comes to minimizing cortisol levels, and giving you the emotional strength you need to thrive. It turns out that juice is great for a lot more than just reducing the excess fat around your stomach. With the right ingredients, and a little creativity, you can banish sources of depression, eliminate anxiety, and take control of your mood.

To help get you started, here are five incredible juices that will help you to say sayonara to chronic stress!

1. Apple and Papaya Power

This incredible juice is great for when you need a little something to help you control your nerves. If you’re feeling anxious enough to cram down an extra plate of comfort food, this juice will help to control your feelings of discomfort, and keep extra cravings at bay. Papaya is rich in vitamin C, which is perfect for keeping your emotional health in check, and it will also reduce your risk of getting sick if your immune system is a little overwhelmed by the additional nerves.

All you need is:

  • 1 Papaya chopped into cubes
  • 1 full red apple (seeds and stalk removed)

Put both fruits into your juicer with about half a glass of water. Drink the juice about 2 hours before you go to bed, or one hour before your next meal.

2. Carrot and Cabbage Creation

Carrot and cabbage juice might not seem like the most appealing blend in the world. However, thanks to its rich content of vitamin C and antioxidants, it’s great for dealing with anxiety. Besides being a great way to fight off chronic stress and anxiety, this juice is also perfect for your immune system.

If you’re worried about the strong flavor of vegetable juices, remember that the carrots in this mix should help to add a little sweetness to the savory taste of the cabbage and fennel. You’ll need:

  • 2 fennel bulbs chopped into cubes
  • 3 large carrots
  • 1 quarter of a medium cabbage

Place all your ingredients into a blender and drink immediately for the best results.

3. The Magic Anxiety Blend

This is a seriously powerful juice for people who struggle with chronic stress. In fact, it’s so potent, that you could even take a 3-ounce shot of it each morning to help you control your stress levels, and strengthen your immune system at the same time. Garlic is especially great for stress. Just keep in mind that you might need to brush your teeth when you’re finished drinking this green masterpiece.

You’ll need:

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 onions
  • 2 peppers
  • 1 handful of parsley

Though this sounds like a pretty strange juice if you’re used to things like orange and apple, it tastes more like a sauce than a beverage. Don’t worry, the results are well-worth the shock to your taste buds.

4. Oatmeal and Pear Perfection

What’s more comforting than oatmeal? When it comes to banishing anxiety, pears and oatmeal are the perfect combination. This juice will help you to feel full and satisfied all day long. However, you will need to add the oats and blend after you’ve juiced the pear. You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of mint tea
  • Honey
  • 2 tablespoons of oats
  • 1 ripe pear

Use a juicer to get the juice from your pear. Then, pour that juice into a blender to mix with the oats, and mint tea. The honey is simply something extra to sweeten the mix if you feel that it’s a little too “savory” for your tastes.

5. Apple and Walnut Wonder

Last, but not least, the apple and walnut wonder is a delightful juice drink that should help you to control your feelings of stress and anxiety. The apples will give you plenty of immune-system boosting vitamins to “keep the doctor away”, while the walnuts are packed full of omega-3 fatty acids, which are great for managing chronic stress. Drink this first thing in a morning to banish that nervous feeling.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 apple
  • 4 walnuts
  • Half a teaspoon of honey

Remember, use a juicer to get the juice out of your apple. Then, blend the mix with the walnuts and almond milk. Add the honey just before drinking for a sweeter beverage.

Enjoy!
